MULTI-TECHNOLOGY BAGGAGE AND PARCEL INSPECTION SYSTEM
Rapiscan’s Gemini system combines dual-energy transmission and Z Backscatter X-ray imaging to provide a comprehensive view of the contents of bags and parcels. Both images are generated simultaneously and are displayed side-by-side to aid operators with image interpretation. Gemini systems are ideal for use in high threat facilities and other security-sensitive areas where enhanced detection of organic threats is of primary importance.
DUAL-ENERGY TRANSMISSION IMAGING
The Gemini system’s dual-energy transmission X-rays provide outstanding image quality that enables the effective detection of a wide variety of threats such as guns, knives, and wires for IEDs. Dual-energy transmission technology also provides material discrimination to aid image interpretation with metallics colored in blue, organics colored in orange, and mixed materials colored in green.
Z BACKSCATTER IMAGING
Z Backscatter technology highlights organic materials, including explosives and narcotics, that can be missed in highly cluttered parcels and bags. Z Backscatter images present organic materials—such as sheet, bulk, and liquid explosives, narcotics, and plastic weapons—as bright white. Z Backscatter imaging produces photo-like images that facilitate interpretation, thereby speeding analysis time, potentially decreasing bags flagged for secondary screening, and reducing operator fatigue.
