Rapiscan Systems Named Best Airport Security Systems Provider at Emerging Market Airport Awards 2011

Rapiscan Systems, the world’s leading security screening provider, has today announced that they have been awarded the Best Airport Security Systems Provider at the 2nd Annual Emerging Market Airport Awards (EMAA) 2011, at the awards ceremony in Dubai on 1 June.
The awards, which recognise and honour the outstanding achievements of individuals and airport companies from the emerging markets, was awarded to Rapiscan Systems for the airport security scanning solutions that they have provided to the emerging market airports of the Middle east, Africa, Indian subcontinent, Russia, CIS and Baltic States.
Rapiscan Systems’ installed base within the region has grown significantly in recent years, driven by increased demand across emerging markets for advanced security technology solutions for screening passengers, baggage and cargo.
Examples of innovative aviation security screening technology from Rapiscan include the 620DV Dual View X Ray baggage scanner, which not only meets worldwide regulatory standards for threat detection, but also has significant operational benefits including a smaller footprint, greater energy efficiency, and reduced weight loading. Another example is Rapiscan’s Real Time Tomography (RTT) system, which allows airports to screen up to 1,800 bags per hour while delivering high resolution 3D images to significantly improve the detection of potential threats and reducing delays in baggage handling.
