Advanced Air Cargo Screening
January 27, 2012
One of the biggest challenges facing air cargo companies and airlines that carry air cargo is the need to screen this cargo for potential threats. This is a big challenge because items shipped by air is often dense (think frozen fish) or complicated (think electronics) and it all has to be screened QUICKLY. And in today’s economy, air cargo companies don’t want to spend any more than they have to on screening technology.
The reason Rapiscan is the leader in air cargo screening solutions is that our engineers spend a lot of time thinking about how to design solutions that 1) meet security requirements; 2) improve customer efficiency and 3) are affordable. Our new 200kV 632XR air cargo screening system is a great example of this.
With a 200kV generator, the NEW 632XR provides a superior 50 mm of steel penetration with the same quality features and options available on all Rapiscan baggage and parcel inspection systems. In plain English, it can scan denser, more cluttered air cargo containers, faster and more efficiently.
We are very glad to add that the 632XR is now on the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Air Cargo Screening Qualified Technology List (ACSTL).
So the next time you order fish at your favorite restaurant – and it tastes fresh – think of Rapiscan Systems!
