Rapiscan Systems Shortlisted in Counter Terrorism and Specialist Security Awards 2012

Rapiscan Systems is pleased to announce that the Rapiscan Eagle T10 has been shortlisted in the Explosive Device Disposal Category in the 2012 Counter Terrorism and Specialist Security (CTSS) Awards 2012.  The CTSS recognise the outstanding products, services and solutions made to ensure we live in a safer world. Companies from across the counter terrorism, defence and security arena submitted their products and service entry for consideration in 12 categories, which have been shortlisted by a panel of judges. The awards are now open for anyone within the industry to vote for their favourite.

The Eagle T10 is a trailer-mounted cargo and vehicle scanner with a 1 MeV X-ray imaging system enabling the detection of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the majority of passenger and goods vehicles. Vehicles are scanned as they drive through the deployed boom, while the remote operator reviews the X-ray images at a safe distance. The Eagle T10 inspects the vehicle and its cargo for contraband, such as explosives, weapons and narcotics. It is available in commercial and military configurations.The X-ray image enables the operator to “see” what is hidden throughout a vehicle and/or container, including cargo containers, engine blocks, truck cabs. This rapidly deployed, ruggedised system can be operated in even the toughest environments.

The winners of each category will be announced at the CTSS Awards Gala Dinner on Wednesday 25 April 2012 at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London.
